Infection and Terror Update: Terror has increased by 1 with the fall of France! It's on 4, reducing income. Infection remains as 0 as Brits hunker down - The UK is steadfast, but looking increasingly alone
Funding Update: I have it as 18 spent without science - Can I get clarification on science orders.
Agent Update: Not used
Military Update: Bombers strike northern Spain hard. The sound of the engines draws creatures out from every village and town they pass over, but they rip into areas around the retreating Santiago troops. The ground is charred. You will find out what happens at the boats in the narration.
Diplomatic Update: Australia rejoins the UK! The commonwealth is strong! No infection detected there.

It seems like BFL is going to be consistently unavailable for science updates.
If we don't have Firestarters, we'll research that and Mandatory Health Screenings.
If we already have Firestarters, we'll research Homey (or Mechanics, if we have Homey already) and Health Screenings.
...
So, uh, is there a way for us to get a summary for all the tech we currently have? Because it is hard for me to figure that out.

I'm here! Firestarters and Mandatory sounds like a plan for me. I'll put in the official update.

Stilts see if you can push for us to be included in tech trading or a partnership with their research center in exchange for hosting refugees in Austrailia.
Matter of fact we really should just pick an island and start turning it into an Ark for worst case scenarios

If we're gonna use Australia as a major refugee center (which we should, honestly), we should also make sure to blockade it from hostile sealife ships. Exports to Australia should also face much stricter controls.

Re: rigging nobel prize votes-I have recieved info from a SADPACT source saying that both nobel prize votes have been rigged by SADPACT. South Africa's scientist informed me of this and wants to stop it, unfortunately it does not appear we have enough votes to do anything about it.

Your NE Atlantic fleet now houses the remains of Operation Santiago. Hooray! Yea I should probably ask where they need to get moved to. In re: SADPACT, both this Nobel prize rigging and the bailout theft, together, paint a not-rosy picture of their alliance. I'd wager that releasing both of these news together, then pointing out that they like to stall and deflect the issue could garner more votes against them.

I'd also assume that, while quoting Gumpy is off-limits, quoting other players isn't as air-tight, so if South Africa's scientist has any documentation, he should share it with the world if he wants to take steps against it.

South Africa's scientist informed me of this and wants to stop it, unfortunately it does not appear we have enough votes to do anything about it. Egypt's diplomat (Bluedude) contacted me a few minutes before you posted this and asked me if we had any information on the leak. I told him what was the truth at the time: That it took me a minute to even figure out what the update meant. I also told him that, while we had our suspicions that SADPACT was engaged in bloc voting, we had much more important things to worry about. Such as the Greek theft, and how I'm frustrated by it continually being brushed aside by Brazil. He told me that he, too, thinks that Brazil is acting fishy about the theft Oh, and as a show of good faith, he told me that "they found something new in Argentina." He doesn't know exactly what they found, but he assumes it's human, since it was found it a hospital.

TECH RESULTS
Firestarters Firestarters are a new way to fight against this monstrous world. Equipped with heavy armour and flamethrowers, they serve as effective troops against the virus creatures that have begun to appear. Their well protected exteriors and easy-to-use weapons make them easier to train. Unfortunately, they need refueling to stay effective, and their low-range weapons make them mediocre at best when combating human troops.
NEW UNIT Str: 3 Pwr: 1 Cost: $5 Build Time: 3 Turns Upkeep: $1 Special: Pwr +2 vs Virus
Mandatory Screening Your expertise allows you to institute very cheap scanning technologies in every workplace. Infected individuals will be unable to infect their coworkers, ensuring a continually functioning economy. Infection level has an effect on your income. Countries with Mandatory Screening will have less of their income lost if Infection reaches high levels.
