Infection and Terror Update: Infection is on 1! A breach has occurred! It was bound to happen eventually. These are only the first signs however, and the little village in cornwall where they were found has already been cornered off.
Funding Update: 16 spent - 24 in the bank.
Agent Update: N/A
Military Update: Firestarters in production. First army is loaded back on the boats.
Diplomatic Update: New Zealand joins the commonwealth! Hoorah! It's also clean of infection. Iceland is shut down tight against all foreigners.
I want your final orders to give me a good idea of what your future plans are! What is the UK end game?

If it's not too late, I wanted our agent to investigate Brazil for Greece's money.
I didn't put it in my master orders, because it's not my job to authorize that.
But I guess discrider forgot

Okay, so, let's talk about what we want our endgame to be.
I'm tempted to vote no on the UN Resolution. The world has been building a pretty good amount of Firestarters, and they seem to be effective. The extra +1 power could be a really nice thing for every nation to have.
That said, the UK should focus on fortifying ourselves and our allies. Should the Firestarter Plan A backfire, we're gonna want to already have a Plan B in place. So let's go over the locations currently under our influence/control:
1) England and Ireland: Obviously the most convenient option, but not a lot of space. Also, we've recently been breached. This hopefully won't be a big deal. But still, I feel like we shouldn't count on the UK proper being safe forever. It should be our secondary priority in regards to fortification measures.
2) Greenland: The least ideal option, I think. It's nice to have around (and letting the US evacuate people there could score us points with them), but it's cold, it's natural resources leave a lot to be desired, and it's incapable of properly sustaining a large population.
3) Australia and New Zealand: These is our best option, I think. Not only does Australia have a significant mining infrastructure that will allow us to build armor and munitions even if we're cut off from everyone else, but they've got a lot of space and a naturally hot climate. Meanwhile, New Zealand is ripe for significant agricultural development.
So my overall suggestion is: back the offensive option, but spend resources heavily fortifying Australia and New Zealand in case military might is not enough and we have to wait it out.

Sounds good.
We should also research heayed infrastructure to remove the infection 1. Or perhaps just broadcast a PSA and convert the 1 infection into 1 terror by streaming live images from a firestarter destroying the town...

Or perhaps just broadcast a PSA and convert the 1 infection into 1 terror by streaming live images from a firestarter destroying the town... Our terror is 4 right now, so we can probably afford to do that. That said, we'll probably want to research heated infrastructure for Australia and New Zealand anyway.

Take all of the money, train ALL OF THE FIRESTARTERS
ENGLAND SHALL BE BORN ANEW IN FIRE AND FLAME
*finishes reading summary*
POSSIBLY AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND SHALL BE BORN ANEW IN FIRE AND FLAME

Homey Your commitment to military infrastructure and training will greatly decrease the costs of moving troops around and performing maintenance on vehicles. Any unit moving into or out of your country has a maximum upkeep of 1.
Mechanics You have trained some elite individuals to have the technology and skills necessary to repair and resupply your various military units. Even an injured and demoralized unit can be brought back to fighting fitness with the help of these mechanics. The tools they use are not cheap, however. Best to use sparingly. Heal 1 Strength for $3 on any number of units.

So, I'm thinking we should research Fight it with Fire, Heated Infrastructure and something else tonight, to back our infection down to 0. That is, if we don't go all MAD and nuke the Argentinians as they nuke us I'm thinking we vote for castles because we're good at castles.

We already have "Fight It With Fire," since that's a prerequisite for Firestarters.
So Heated Infrastructure, Sterilization Procedures, and Handheld Sterilization Kits seems like the way to go for our specific strategy. Not only is that really good for us now, but it lets Theoretical Future Britain get totally sweet tanks (as well as putting us on the path to eventually getting Naturally Resistant Troops).
Also, uh, go to DEFCON 2. Just in case.
EDIT:
Okay, so, discrider thinks we should vote for the resolution. Farangu thinks we should vote against. BFL, what's your opinion? I'd like to get everyone's thoughts before I make a decision, because either one would work well for us, I think.

I think we vote against-I don't think we're yet at the point where we give up.
